As soon as your camper sets paw in the front door he or she typically excitedly sniffs our lodge lobby and cannot wait to get back to one of our three indoor/outdoor play yards. Your camper is welcomed by our friendly certified camp counselors and placed with a group of fuzzy friends according to their size and temperament. Our camp counselors ensure the safety and comfort of your campers. Here is camp counselor Justin prepping the breakfasts for the morning as campers watch with great anticipation.

New Faces At Camp Bow Wow

On Tuesday our Counselors and Campers had the pleasure of meeting four new bright faces in the play yards. Mac, Jessie, Lucy, and Minnie were unsure at first but as they mingled with their new friends they became more comfortable and were soon romping around and wagging their tails.

She enjoyed spending the day playing with her two new pals, J.D. and Sam. All the campers had a ball today, and Sadie even arrived at camp wearing her Camp Bow Wow bandana!

Dog Day Afternoon Slide Show

Scout was a big hit at Dog Day Afternoon! Thanks Scout!

Charlie

Charlie told his friend about Camp Bow Wow.... and then he tells his friends...and so on and so on.... and that's how the tail waggin' fun begins!

Dog Day Afternoon

The day started off with a brief down pour of rain, but soon the skies cleared and made way for a doggone good day.  Scout was a big hit with the kids, but some of the dogs weren't quite sure about him..they had never seen a dog so big and especially one that stood on two legs!

Foster Dogs at Dog Day Afternoon

Stanley and Loren both had a great time at the festival today.  There was interest in both of them and we are hopeful they will be going to their forever homes soon.

CBW Friends at Dog Day Afternoon

We saw some of our Camp Bow Wow friends at the Carmel Dog Day Afternoon festival.  It was fun to see Armani and her mom, Lacey and her mom, Sadie and her family, and Dexter and his family.  We hardly recognized Dexter with his new summer "do."  You are lookin' great Dex!

Today we welcomed two new campers, Sophie, a teacup chihuahua, and Frankie, an Italian Greyhound. Many of our regulars were here today, as well, including Keady and Addison, Calvin, Dexter, Ruby, Remy, Buddy and Clouseau, Sadie, Bailey and Kahlua, and Rascal. Fuzzy and Toby also came to spend the day at Camp Bow Wow Carmel. Toby had a ball playing in the water, and Fuzzy enjoyed playing with the camp counselors and relaxing under the shade tree. Lua, Remy, and Leo played in the third yard, where they could let off their energy, while Ruby, Dexter, Fuzzy, Lucky, Darius and Duncan, and our foster dog, Silas played in the middle yard. They all enjoyed playing in the pool and chasing Dexter, who was full of energy. In the first yard, Rascal enjoyed saying hello to his friends across the fence, while Sadie, Buddy, Sammy, Buddy and Clouseau, Keady, and Snowball relaxed in the shade. Calvin, J.D., Addison, and Sadie enjoyed spending the day wrestling around with each other. J.D. also loved playing in the pool!

Pictures of Your Campers

I know that all you parents love seeing pictures of your campers at play, so here is a slide show of all the campers here at Camp Bow Wow today. We also would like to welcome our newest camper, Foxie, a female Shiba Inu. Foxie had fun today playing with her new friends, Hercules, and Spring Spaniel and Calvin, a Shepherd mix. Buddy and Clouseau, a beagle and dachsund who are regulars here at CBW, enjoyed camp today. Buddy lounged around and Clouseau tried to stay on top of the bridge all day! Orly was laid-back as usual, and Sheru enjoyed playing with the other campers here! Gus and Sammy were tired and used their time to nap, while getting some quality time in with the counselors. Luca was very active today as well, jumping on the bridge into the counselors' laps! Ever enjoyed playing with Foxie, Calvin, Puff, Rascal, and J.D. Saffy was a happy camper today, as well, and she enjoyed playing with all the campers! Rascal enjoys trying to say hello to all the campers, while still playing with the small campers at the same time! J.D. loved playing with all the campers, as usual, and he was so tired he had to lie down for a nap by the end of the day! We welcomed a new foster dog today, Loren, a female border collie mix puppy!

Another hot humid day at Camp Bow Wow Carmel, and the Labs love the pools! We welcomed a new camper today. Norm is a Australian Sheppard from Atlanta.

By the way, please make sure your camper has a snap collar with a tag with his name. It gets a little confusing when you have multiple campers that are the same breed, about the same size and color.

Nice Slide Show Justin

Justin,
I really enjoyed your slide show...."All of Our Dogs".  Welcome home Reggie.  We love you.

Love Lisa and TOKA

Greetings from Snowball

Snowball wanted to say "Hi!  I'm doing great here at Camp Bow Wow.  I like to relax in the shade under the bridge, greet new furry friends every day, get loved on by the Camp Counselors, and spend a little quiet time here in the lounge.  Hope you are having a great vacation and I look forward to telling you about all my great times when you get home."  Love, Snowball

Today we welcomed four new campers! Sandi, a border collie mix, was a bit timid at first, but she quickly realized that some of our regular campers were more laid back, just like her. Bailey, a chocolate lab, jumped into the pup pool the first chance she got, along with Montana, a black lab. Sable, a german shepherd, missed his owners at first, but eventually warmed up to the other campers. Welcome to Camp Bow Wow, guys!

Another Busy Day at Camp Bow Wow Carmel

Hello CBW parents and campers! Today was another busy day for us here at Camp Bow Wow Carmel. We had five new dogs come in for their interviews today! Bailey and Kahlua, a chocolate lab and a yellow lab, respectively, were our first interviewees. They were very happy to be here at camp and made many new friends. Nelson, a black and white English springer spaniel returned to camp today after passing his interview with flying colors yesterday. While he was a little shy yesterday, today he ventured out to play in the play yard all with his new friends. Our next newest campers, a boxer mix and a shepherd mix, Bronx and Brooklyn, also came to camp today to complete their interview and made lots of new friends. Our next new camper, Chloe, came in for her interview today, as well. Chloe is a labrador retriever who enjoyed playing in the pup pools.

A very busy day at Camp Bow Wow

Today was very hot and humid and the campers took advantage of the pup pools. Myles was very pleased with himself as he splashed around in the water with Gus. Vinnie and Marley wrestled all day long and Max lounged around on the bridge. Nicky and Sheru seemed to be having intense conversations. The first (small) play yard was very busy with a nice balance of easy going medium dogs palling around with smaller campers and puppies. Zach is having an absolute ball with his new friends at Camp Bow Wow. I was very excited to see Grizz so big already. Even the bashful dogs such as Dora, Cooper, and Miss Vivian enjoyed themselves once more dogs flooded into the play yard.
